Types of shaped breast implants
"Shaped breast implants", "anatomical breast implants", or “Gummy Bear breast implants" are a new silicone implant that uses a strong cohesive gel that offers a tear-drop appearance which mimics the natural contour and feel of female breasts. With its popularity and FDA approval in 2013, it has become a gold standard for many surgeons and patients alike.
Resisting gravity, aging and anatomical flaws through its distinct form-fitting engineering, these implants not only offer women a more natural-looking implant but also a safer one. Ripples, folds, and creases are rare with this implant, making tears and leakages very unlikely, thus drastically reducing any medical complications with obtaining breast implants.
In the right patient, these implants provide the most desirable and natural shaped breast. There are different implant types and sizes offered by Mentor, Allergan, and Sientra. Each of these options are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, and Dr. Schwartz will work closely with you to determine which option will appear the most natural for you, as well as deliver the precise overall look you desire.

What results can I expect from my shaped breast implants?
Breast augmentation is an extremely versatile procedure – especially when it’s performed by a leading expert in the field like Dr. Schwartz. To that end, here are just a few of the results that are possible when you receive among the best breast implants Thousand Oaks has to offer:
Larger and more beautiful breasts
After having your augmentation with Westlake Village breast implants surgeon Dr. Schwartz, you can expect to possess larger and more beautiful breasts that enhance your overall appearance and better fit your figure.
If one of your breasts is larger, smaller or a different shape than the other, that asymmetry will be corrected during surgery – restoring balance and harmony to your chest. These shaped implants work even better than round implants at correcting asymmetry.
Fuller and rounder breasts
In addition to larger breasts, you can also expect to emerge from surgery with breasts that are natural looking, full and perky.
Thanks to the natural look and feel of shaped implants, as well as Dr. Schwartz’s expertise, you can be assured that your end result will look and feel extremely natural – no matter what size and shape you ultimately choose.

An overview of breast augmentation surgery
To prepare for among the top breast implants Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks and Calabasas have available, Dr. Schwartz will work closely with you to determine which implant size and shape will help you achieve the overall look you desire. He will then use Vectra 3D Imaging technology, so you can visualize exactly what your breasts will look like after surgery.
To begin the actual procedure, Dr. Schwartz will administer general anesthesia to ensure your comfort and safety. He will then make a precise incision, either at the bottom of the breast (inframammary), under the arm (axillary) or around the areola (periareolar). This is a critical aspect of your procedure, as the placement of the incision can impact your scarring, nipple sensation and breastfeeding options. Prior to surgery, Dr. Schwartz will discuss the benefits and risks of each option, and help you determine which incision is in your best interest.
After Dr. Schwartz has made the incision, he will place your implants. There are two placement options available, and you and Dr. Schwartz will decide together which one is best. For the subglandular breast implant placement, Dr. Schwartz will position the implant in front of the pectoral muscle and behind the breast tissue. For the submuscular breast implant placement, Dr. Schwartz will position the implant underneath the pectoral muscle. Once the implant has been placed, Dr. Schwartz will expertly close the incision to minimize any scarring.
